CleanLink Support

CleanLink lives in your Mac's menu bar. Click the link icon to open its controls. When cleaning is paused, the icon changes to a pause symbol.

Getting started

Open CleanLink and choose Start Cleaning. Copy a standalone web link, wait a moment, then paste it as usual. Recognized trackers are removed locally. Settings includes an optional Launch at login switch.

A link was not cleaned

CleanLink only changes recognized tracking fields. A link may already be clean, contain an unsupported tracker, or include a parameter you chose to protect. Rich text, HTML, files, images, multiple items, and clipboard content marked private are intentionally skipped. Try copying the URL from a plain-text document and choose Clean Clipboard Now. If macOS asks for clipboard access, allow it for CleanLink if you want automatic cleaning.

Keep a parameter

Open Settings and add the parameter name under Never remove these parameters. Separate names with commas. You can also disable individual cleaning categories or pause cleaning.

Recent links and privacy

Recent links are held in memory and cleared when you quit. Hiding the list does not disable session history. Copying something else replaces the current system clipboard contents. See the Privacy Policy in Settings for details.

Purchases

CleanLink is a one-time paid download. There is no subscription or in-app purchase. Redownload purchased copies using the same Apple Account in the Mac App Store. Apple handles billing and refund requests through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Optional shortening

Turn on Shortening in the menu or Settings, then accept the first-use disclosure. Copied web links are uploaded to cln.li and become public short links. Keep shortening off for sensitive links. Cleaning and shortening work independently; turn both off to pause all automatic processing. Clean Clipboard Now always stays local.

Shortening requires an internet connection. If it fails, the full link remains ready to paste. Limits are 20 new-link attempts per minute and 100 per day per installation, with additional global and network abuse limits. Wait before trying again after a limit message. Repeated unavailable-access messages may require an app update. The app does not need an account or a purchase receipt to connect to the service.

Disable a short link

Turning shortening off does not delete existing links. Email the short URL to hello@sodre.studio to request disabling it or removing its destination. Disabled IDs are never reused. Send the short URL rather than sensitive destination content.

Contact

Email hello@sodre.studio for help with CleanLink.

When requesting help, include your macOS version, CleanLink version, and steps to reproduce. Send only a non-sensitive example URL with private query values removed.
